One off-year does not define Buddy

Buddy Hield was mediocre this season, but let us not forget how productive he was these past few years. When the team’s overall talent was bad, Hield remained consistently productive night in and night out.

Offensively, he was someone who could move well without the ball in his hands, found ways to get open, and hit shots. Specifically, shots from the perimeter. Before this season, Hield’s efficiency as a shooter was great as he averaged around 15 points per game while making 44.6 percent from the floor and 41.8 percent from behind the 3-point stripe.

Even during this campaign when Hield struggled, he started to get back to his normal self as he found new life coming off the bench.

This year was a challenge for Buddy Hield and his fans. The starting shooting guard faced unfamiliar territory as he experienced growing pains as well as losing confidence in the Kings’ fanbase. But I still believe Hield can get back to his ways and become the consistent asset that he has been for the Kings in the last couple of years. Now is not the time to give up on him. Especially since he was asked to change his role compared to previous seasons.
