New Orleans Pelicans: The league should follow the Pelicans’ lead

No. 3 Add coaches
In cities like New Orleans, Boston and Milwaukee (for the most part) head coaches in their local NBA teams are beloved and recognized as an integral member of the local community. Therefore, in local markets, ratings would explode.
Imagine giving an Oklahoma City Thunder fan the opportunity to listen to Billy Donovan take apart their 112-107 win over the Houston Rockets on January 20. With the mind of a coach who was at Florida for nearly 20 years, won two NCAA Tournament titles and has coached the franchise for five years, the local market would flood their living rooms and the live stream to catch a peak.
Even for the larger networks — we’d all tune in to hear Brad Stevens break down a game. With the knowledge and experience the Celtics head coach has in his back pocket, the players he’s coached, the core he has now, it’d be difficult not to watch a game like that. Especially in a scenario where the C’s played a rival like the Milwaukee Bucks or Los Angeles Lakers, the thought of choosing not to watch something like that is not easily comprehended.
While having executives do color-commentary is an excellent idea, having the men and women who instituted the system partake in the broadcast could be that much more entertaining.
