Kevin Garnett has had some amazing trash talk stories as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics. Here are some of his best.
As Kevin Garnett prepares to enter the Hall of Fame come late August, there will be time to look back and go over some of his greatest accomplishments, both with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Boston Celtics. From MVP awards to championships to All-Star performances, those articles will never run short for content.

Instead, we’re going to be looking today at the more “fun” side of Garnett. The side that would cause him to bang his head into the hoop stanchion and then talk to it. The side that made him mime his replacements actions to the tee when Doc Rivers removed him from practice, so much so that Rivers sent the whole team home. The side that mad Garnett scream, “(expletive), you’ve got to stand up for yours! You’ve got to fight! (expletive), you’ve got to come together!” and then headbutt a hole in his wall at Puff Daddy’s Making the Band.
Garnett, among many other things, had a reputation for being one of the best trash talkers in the league, and today I’m ranking some of my favorite stories. Now, the reason I say stories is–due to the insiders’ nature of on-court conversations–most of these are just hearsay. I’m also not trying to make an objective list, but just give my favorites. If you have more, leave them in the comments below.
One other note before we get into this. I just want to say that I don’t endorse anything Garnett said in this list. Garnett was one of the most vile, rude, and plain mean players on the court, this list is simply showcasing another piece of his legacy.
Without further ado, here are Garnett’s most memorable trash talk moments.
