Four best moments of the Portland Trail Blazers season

Hassan Whiteside trade

Thanks to the injury to Nurkic and Enes Kanter choosing to take his talents to the Boston Celtics the Trail Blazers were running low in the big man stocks. They then became a part of a four-team mega trade which landed them Hassan Whiteside.

The components of the trade which impact the Trail Blazers were they gave up Maurice Harkless to the LA Clippers and Meyers Leonard to the Miami Heat. In return, they got Whiteside and his expiring deal as a rental until Nurkic returned.

The good problem being for the Trail Blazers was that Whiteside has fit in extremely well for the club out of Oregon. His strengths of paint scoring, rebounding and blocking shots were exactly what the Trail Blazers needed.

He has also welcomed to the franchise by Lillard and appears to be having the time of his basketball life. The amount of fun he is having despite the Trail Blazers losing more than they are winning.

This may have created a positive issue for the Trail Blazers. If Whiteside wants to stay with the team then a decision needs to be made. Do they want Nurkic’s all-around play or do they want Whiteside’s 16.3 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game?

This is a question that needs the final 16 games of the season to answer.
