Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

It is quite interesting that a player who is in his second is already number four on this list or it may just be the fact that the LA Clippers are not that good at finding talent. Regardless of what the reason is, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was selected with the 11th pick by the Charlotte Hornets and traded to the Clippers for Miles Bridges and future picks.

Despite being selected 11th overall, I do not think many people would have guessed that he would be this good this quickly. Even with limited shot attempts, he still averaged, 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game. This earned him an All-Rookie second team.

Then even more surprisingly, he further improved his game in the post-season against the Golden State Warriors where he had two great games especially shooting-wise.

But then, his rookie season has finished, so what do the Clippers do? They traded him, though, that is not very fair, as they did acquire Paul George and that led to signing Kawhi Leonard, so it was worth it. However, that is only because there were reports that Leonard was not going to come on his own, but what if he did?

Well, we are witnessing what he is doing in Oklahoma right now. With the increased minutes and offensive load, his stats have improved in almost anything. He almost doubled his shot attempts while also maintaining his efficiency, which applies to his 3-point percentage too.

The Clippers made no mistake in trading picks and Bridges for him and they were not mistaken to trade him too, but it just makes you wonder how he would pan out if he stayed. In a couple of seasons, he may have been second on this list.
