#3 Pick: Bradley Beal (Originally: Bradley Beal)

In a minor upset, another goofy organization that tends to get things wrong all the time nailed this one. Look back just a few years and the Washington Wizards were a second-round playoff team based around John Wall and Bradley Beal. With better coaching than Randy Wittman and Scott Brooks and this team could have been a conference finalist and this guard pairing is the reason.

Bradley Beal, despite not making the All-Star game this season, is a perennial All-Star candidate and has taken a step forward for his team with John Wall out. If Wall does not end up suffering these injuries this team could have contended for the playoffs for the better part of a decade.

Does the John Wall/Bradley Beal pairing ever grow into a title contender? Maybe if they did not take Otto Porter third overall the following season. To watch how strong they looked with Paul Pierce and Andre Miller, imagine them with another lottery talent on par with Beal and Wall.

Beal may not still be on this team for much longer, even though he committed to them through this extension. But when you can get a perennial All-Star at three it is a no-brainer. Beal is great and Ernie Grunfeld actually got this one right.
