Minnesota Timberwolves: Karl-Anthony Towns

Greatest Player: Kevin Garnett

Karl-Anthony Towns might not be the franchise-altering talent the Minnesota Timberwolves were hoping for, but he’s certainly looked the part of No. 1 pick since coming into the league in 2015.

In his five seasons so far, the former Kentucky Wildcat has career averages of 22.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Combined with a true shooting percentage of 62.2, Towns is in a category all his own in NBA history.

He took home the Rookie of the Year award after becoming one of just 18 first-years to average north of 18 points, 10 rebounds and two assists per game.

A two-time All-Star as well, KAT’s first appearance in the mid-season festivities came amid one of the best seasons in recent Timberwolves history.

After a 13-year absence from the postseason, Towns helped Minnesota to 47 wins and a spot in the playoffs, including their first victory since the Kevin Garnett days in 2004, earning an All-NBA Third Team selection in the process.

Only 24 years of age, it will be worth watching the direction Towns steers the Timberwolves in moving forward with the talent to have that type of control.
