Toronto Raptors: Ranking the last 10 first-round picks
5. Terrence Ross
There was a tough debate between the fifth and fourth spot, a debate Terrence Ross ultimately came out on the losing end of this time. Still, the small forward spent a good chunk of his career in Toronto after being taken eighth overall in the 2012 NBA Draft.
Ross struggled to put it all together during his rookie campaign, averaging 6.4 points per game and shooting 33.2 percent from 3-point range. That being said, Ross also had his most memorable moment as a Raptor during this trying season, winning the 2013 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, the first member of the organization to win the competition since Vince Carter.
Ross became a regular starter during his second and third seasons, averaging 10.9 points and 9.8 points per game, respectively. His second season also included the unexpected 51-point outburst against the LA Clippers in a loss. He was relegated back to the bench during his fourth season, though, averaging a robust if not amazing 9.9 points per game. This came after he signed a three-year, $33 million extension with the team.
After coming off the bench for the first 54 games of the 2016-17 season, the Raptors traded Ross to the Orlando Magic in exchange for current roster mainstay Serge Ibaka. In four and a half seasons with Toronto, Ross averaged 9.5 points per game – he has averaged 13.9 points per game with the Magic since the trade.
