2. All-around brilliance in Houston (10/26/19)

The Pelicans were in Texas to take on the Houston Rockets and wound up losing by three points, 126-123. And yet the disappointing final score was no more than a footnote in the main takeaway for New Orleans.

Across 38 minutes, Ingram would put up 35 points — on 14-for-22 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from distance — along with 15 rebounds and five assists in just the third game of the new season.

Similar performances have only been replicated eight other times this season — by five players — while Ingram became the 15th-youngest player to ever produce a 35-15-5 line in NBA history — with the appropriate points, rebounds and assist totals.

To that point, Ingram was just a single point off his previous career-high of 35 while the 15 rebounds he amasses were a career-best mark.

Even if you thought Ingram was capable of this type of play, his performance against one of the league’s premier teams still caught plenty by surprise. Little did we know of the consistent All-Star caliber play on its way.
