7. Romeo Langford

The Boston Celtics drafted Romeo Langford 14th overall in this past year’s NBA Draft. It’s still entirely too early to rank the drafting of Langford, but he is an extremely versatile player that has a tremendous amount of upside.

Langford declared for the NBA Draft after one season at Indiana University where he averaged 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game from 2018-2019. He played most of his freshman season with torn ligaments in his thumb and still declared for the draft knowingly needing surgery.

The Celtics have invested a great amount of time re-evaluating and working with Langford throughout his rookie season. Through a few other minor injuries sustained during his first year with the C’s, Langford has consistently worked with Celtics assistant coach, Joe Mazzulla, on re-forming his shot and defensive responsibilities.

Although Langford’s rookie season has been cut short, he has played in 27 games while averaging 2.6 points and 1.2 rebounds per game this season. He has played in multiple games for the Red Claws this season and excelled in doing so.

If he can remain healthy, the ceiling will be high for Langford in Boston.
