Rebounding

Offensive/Defensive: Andre Drummond

Andre Drummond has led the league in rebounds per game in three of the last four seasons — as well as total defensive rebounds — and was on pace to claim a fourth rebounding crown. He’s been tops in total offensive rebounds since his sophomore season back in 2013-14.

It’s proven difficult to keep his springy 6’10” and 279-pound frame away from the glass, where his career average of 13.8 rebounds per game ranks eighth all-time.

Of the 15.2 nightly rebounds Drummond’s averaging this season, not all of them simply fall into his lap at a time when big men are more likely to be stationed beyond the arc than battling in the paint for offensive rebounds.

He’s tied for the league-lead in contested boards per game at 6.9 by possessing the girth needed to emerge victorious in the near-wrestling matches that can manifest down low.

It doesn’t contribute much to wins, but Drummond’s rebounding numbers don’t happen by accident. He’s one of the best to ever do it in that department. The stats don’t lie.
