2. Jahmi’us Ramsey (Texas Tech)

Best-case comparison: Prime Wesley Matthews; Realistic comparison: Norman Powell

Jahmi’us Ramsey is the only other exception on this list. Ramsey is a 6’4” combo guard from Texas Tech. He is a super athletic 3-and-D guard that has the defensive potential of a guy like Marcus Smart and the jump shot of Royce O’Neal. I believe he would be a great fit alongside Fred VanVleet when Kyle Lowry eventually retires.

Ramsey is a super athletic defender with really good instincts, having averaged 1.3 steals per game, and is an incredibly good shooter at 42.6 percent from three this season. He’s also a relatively good shot blocker for a guard with 0.7 blocks per game.

The one knock on Ramsey is that, despite his superb athleticism, he doesn’t get to the basket very often. He shot only 7.2 two-point attempts per game with shot 5.2 threes per game. Additionally, he doesn’t get to the free-throw line very often (2.9 free-throws per game) and only shot 64.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Ramsey will be a really good fit with basically any team he lands with whether he is starting or coming off the bench. And while he doesn’t fill the role of a starting center alongside Siakam, a talent like Ramsey near the end of the first round is something you just can’t pass up.
