8. Isaiah Stewart (Washington)

Best-case comparison: Andre Drummond; Realistic comparison: Derrick Favors

Isaiah Stewart is a 6’9″ center out of Washington University. He’s an old school, back to the basket type center with really good athleticism on the defensive end. He would fit with the Raptors in the sense that he is a center but would likely clog driving lanes for Siakam and company.

Some of the positives of Stewart’s game include his finishing ability around the basket. He also has surprisingly good touch from the mid-range and gets out in transition to run the floor well. Defensively, Stewart is a great shot blocker in both one on one post-up situations and help defense scenarios.

Some of the flaws in Isaiah Stewart’s game include his complete inability to shoot the 3-ball. He will need to maximize his ability to rebound and play defense to thrive at the next level due to his lack of shooting ability.

Additionally, he has really poor shooting mechanics which doesn’t bode well for him ever finding a consistent 3-point jumper. Lastly, he is pretty slow-footed and may struggle to hang with quick guards off switches in the NBA.

Stewart can have a successful NBA career by being a great rebounding defensive center that can operate in the pick and roll. However, he will likely need to be paired with a floor-spacing power forward to maximize his potential.
