Toronto Raptors: 8 players to eye in the 2020 NBA Draft
By Nate Friesen
As it stands right now, the Toronto Raptors will have the 28th pick in the 2020 NBA draft and there are many ways they could go with it.
As it stands right now, it seems the Toronto Raptors could benefit most from a young center that would compliment Pascal Siakam for years to come. With Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka presumably nearing the end of their prime, it’s time for the Raptors to start thinking about the starting center of the future (and it’s not likely Chris Boucher).
There will be a lot of options for the Raptors at the end of the first round of the upcoming 2020 Draft, whenever that might be, and nothing is stopping them from trading up in the draft to get the guy they want.
The Raptors have been one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference for quite a few years now and they show no signs of slowing down with the continued emergence of young talent. If they can continue hitting on late first-round draft picks while maintaining regular season and playoff success, they could be a great team for years to come.
Now, this is certainly easier said than done. We’ve only seen it be done most recently by the San Antonio Spurs and even that seems like it may be coming to the end.
Hopefully, the Raptors can continue their streak of finding talent late in the first round, second round and even undrafted guys. Today we’ll be focusing on the guys I think would fit best and would be the most talented guys for the Raptors going forward.
People have been saying that this draft class isn’t very strong, but even in the weakest draft classes, some elite talent always comes out of it.
Let’s take a look at the most ideal prospects for the Raptors in the 2020 NBA draft.
