6. Avery Bradley

Avery Bradley was drafted by the Boston Celtics and spent the first seven years of his career in Boston. The team decided to trade him away in 2017, despite being one of the team’s leading scorers and a premier wing defender.

Many people were initially shocked by the news, though Bradley said that he pretty much-anticipated it to happen. Bradley was a huge piece to the team in the post-championship era and common sense implied that they would intend to keep him as they had, once again, become contenders.

So how did Bradley end up on the Los Angeles Lakers? The most accurate way to put it, is that he was a godsend. During the past offseason, the Lakers were in desperate need of some perimeter defense, and Bradley suited their needs perfectly.

Once he was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies, the Lakers didn’t hesitate to immediately pick him up. What people didn’t know, was that Bradley would end up being a starting and irreplaceable member of the team.

It’s only been half a season in purple-and-gold, but something just doesn’t feel right watching Bradley suit up for the Lakers. Perhaps the Celtics should’ve kept him. Perhaps a locker room presence of such wouldn’t result in that many chemistry issues for the C’s.
