10 players that played for both the Lakers and the Celtics
2. Rajon Rondo
Rajon Rondo has played 94 games so far for the Los Angeles Lakers and is a very important part of the squad’s rotation. But if you don’t think something’s wrong with that picture, you might not have a soul.
A sophomore Rajon Rondo was the starting point guard in the championship team that got Boston its 17th NBA Championship. After that, he showcased his true capabilities, leading the league once in steals and three times in assists.
Unfortunately, Rondo grew unsettled after the dissolution of their superteam and wanted out. Boston immediately traded him to the Dallas Mavericks, starting an endless journey of team-switching. A side-story not known by many was LA’s pursuit to acquire Rondo at that time.
After being moved, he quickly went from playing in one franchise for nine seasons to playing with five different teams in the span of five seasons. Now with the Lakers, this is the first time since Boston that Rondo has stayed with a team for more than one season.

Perhaps his best moment yet in a Lakers jersey occurred when he hit a game-winning shot inside the TD Garden, to give the Lakers the W in a tightly-contested game. Fun fact, this memorable shot occurred on Isaiah Thomas’ birthday, marking a disastrous day in Boston.
Boston Rajon Rondo was one of the best players in the league. He had an endless supply of passing and defensive tricks up his sleeve. Despite being much older now, he has grown as a shooter and is still an irreplaceable member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
