4. Ricky Pierce (1996-97)

Ricky Pierce’s stint with the Nuggets was a brief one spanning just 33 games, but he still proved to be a capable bench scorer during his limited time with the team. As a former two-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner, the role was familiar for Pierce, one he fulfilled particularly well, averaging 10.2 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting for Denver at the ripe age of 37.

In his prime, he put up 19.5 points per game on 53.4 percent from the field during his first Sixth Man campaign in 1986-87 and 23.0 points per game on 51.0 percent shooting during his second winning season in 1989-90. The following year, Pierce made his first All-Star team, averaging 20.5 points per game with a 48.5 field goal percentage.

While Pierce didn’t quite bring this same level of excellence to the Nuggets, he did provide the team with a veteran presence, capable of getting numerous buckets off the bench when needed.

He eclipsed the 20 point mark four times in his 33 games, the best of which were a 25-point, five-rebound, two-assist victory against the Rockets on Jan. 30, 1997 and two 23-point outings against the Kings on Feb. 1 and versus the Washington Bullets on Feb. 5.
