Myles Turner

The Indiana Pacers are on the up and up. They signed combo guard Malcolm Brogdon last summer in free agency, and were just getting Victor Oladipo back up to speed before the hiatus.

But it seems they’ve hit their ceiling behind their frontcourt duo of Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. And the former is the one we’ve seen mentioned in trade rumors far too often.

At 6’11” and 210 lbs, Turner has become the exact archetype of big man in today’s modern era. He can space the floor (33.6 percent from 3), is a prominent defender (2.2 blocks per game), and is only 23.

But the Pacers seem far more committed to Sabonis, despite having agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $72 million with Turner in October of 2018. If nothing else, they just set the limit on how much the big man would cost them and set the market for any deal.

The New Orleans Pelicans, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers have all been tied to the big man at some point between the 2019 draft and present. But it’s been reported that the Pacers, are unlikely to deal him to an Eastern Conference rival.

Who are some teams that make sense, keeping that in mind? If speaking strictly on Western Conference teams, the Memphis Grizzlies or Oklahoma City Thunder.
