Half Man Half Amazing: Looking back at the best moments of Vince Carter’s career

Class Act
While most of these moments are about being flashy and a dynamic athlete, sometimes class and respect go a long way. Carter was named an All-Star starter in 2003. The only thing wrong with that is this was the last All-Star game for the greatest player to ever play to that point, Michael Jordan.
Admittedly, Carter had been limited that season with injuries, only able to play in 43 games. He was voted as a started because he was phenomenal when he did play and was quickly establishing himself as one of the most popular young stars in the league.
But this was about more than an injury. Carter was not the first person to offer his spot to Jordan, as Iverson and McGrady had previously been rebuffed. The Tar Heel fan in me thinks that coming from a fellow University of North Carolina star meant a bit more and urged Jordan to accept.
This game was about celebrating the star as he transitioned full-time to his front office role and Carter realized early in his career that giving back to the game meant more than any individual moment. As someone who would become known as a stellar teammate and veteran leader, this was a harbinger of things to come.
