7. Jamaal Magloire

Jamaal Magloire was an All-Star for the New Orleans Hornets in the 2003-04 season, but he became a living part of history for the Raptors in 2011-12. That’s because a Canadian player had never suited up for the Raptors before Magloire did in 2011. It was the perfect place for the Toronto native to end his career.

That being said, Magloire was only a fraction of the player he once was when he was with Toronto during his final season. In 34 games that season, he played in just 11.0 minutes per game, averaging a paltry 1.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest. The team signed him to a new contract after the season, but waived him before the 2012-13 season commenced, effectively ending Magloire’s playing career.

That was not the end of Magloire’s relationship with the franchise, though. He became a consultant, ambassador and employee of the team’s staff, a relationship that continues to this day. This season, he serves as a basketball development consultant.

It’s in this role where Magloire had arguably his most famous moment as a Raptor, yelling into a paper cup during the 2019 NBA Finals. The moment immediately blew up on social media, becoming a meme that persists to this day.
