15 stars you forgot played for the New York Knicks
9. Rasheed Wallace
The 2012-13 New York Knicks were set for success. What was supposed to be the best Knicks team we’ve seen since Patrick Ewing’s ’99 Knicks, the bar was set pretty high as many thought this team would give LeBron James and the Miami Heat a run for their money.
By adding Rasheed Wallace, the size of the team would be fearsome if you consider that Amar’e Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler and Marcus Camby were all on the roster at the moment. Wallace had been out of the NBA for two seasons, but the expectations were incredibly low for the veteran.
Wallace was not bad for the team, though injuries forces him to play just 21 games the entire season. The Knicks ended up waiving him a few days prior to the beginning of the 2013 playoffs to create a roster spot that could help them moving forward more than an injured Wallace.
Wallace is a four-time All-Star and an NBA Champion with the Detroit Pistons back in 2004. Perhaps the timing just wasn’t right for New York Knicks fans to enjoy seeing him in action in The Mecca.
