2. Jalen Rose

I know, right? Who knew Jalen Rose played for the New York Knicks? And if you did, then hats off to you.

Rose is mostly remembered for his days with the Indiana Pacers. He and Reggie Miller led the Pacers to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance in 2000, falling short in six games against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Originally a member of the Fab Five at the University of Michigan, Rose didn’t acclimate himself immediately to life in the big leagues. He started showcasing his full potential once moved to the starting lineup alongside Miller, leading to team success right away.

A few weeks prior to the 2006 trade deadline, Rose was enjoying one of his final seasons in the NBA with the Toronto Raptors as a 33-year-old. Consequently, as you’d expect from having read these past few pages of this article, the Knicks decided to trade for him.

That season, the Knicks would end up having the second-worst record in the league. In the draft that followed, they didn’t select high as they had already traded away their draft pick which would later turn out to be LaMarcus Aldridge.
