4. Rolando Blackman

The legendary Rolando Blackman has also worn a Knicks jersey at some point in his 13-year NBA career. Extensively known for his stint with the Dallas Mavericks, Blackman is a four-time All-Star and was one of the best players in the league back in the ’80s.

In 1992, it was clear that Blackman was on the tail end of his career. Back in the day, a 32-year-old was viewed exactly the way we see a 38-year-old today. Regardless of his age, Blackman was still a very productive scorer, with percentages that were desired by many.

In a move that surprised a ton of people, the Mavericks decided to trade him away after 11 seasons, in exchange for a future first-round pick. Blackman would join a “win-now” New York Knicks team with Patrick Ewing, with his ex-teammate Derek Harper arriving a year later.

In the 1993 NBA Playoffs, Blackman would hit a game-winning shot against the Charlotte Hornets to give the Knicks a comfortable advantage to ultimately win the series in five games.

In the season that followed, they managed to make it to the NBA Finals, where they would fall short against Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets. This is without a doubt, the best Knicks team we’ve witnessed in the last 40 years.

After the game seven loss in the finals, Blackman would retire from the NBA and continue playing basketball overseas. His first destination was Greece, then Italy, to wrap it all up in France.
