#3: Kyle Korver

Kyle Korver has come a long way from being traded for a copy machine in 2003. In fact, Korver has defied his expectations. Korver has been the ultimate role player for most of his career and has become one of the most dynamic shooters in NBA history. Though he’s never been known for anything else, Korver has most definitely had a great career in the NBA, and we may have witnessed his final game.

Korver, who turns 39 in a few days, hasn’t ruled out playing after this season, though he did consider it in the offseason. At this point, Korver is ring-chasing really, which is completely warranted. He kind of missed the boat to join a contending team earlier in his career, you could count that mid-2010s Hawks team, but they failed in the playoffs. He signed with the Milwaukee Bucks on the offseason, which suits his ring-chasing endeavors.

His final game as it stands, comes in a loss to the Denver Nuggets, however, the Bucks were missing their three best players. Korver capitalized on this and managed to score 23 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Certainly, if this proves to be his final game in the NBA, this is certainly his best showing of the season and can be considered as a successful retirement game on all levels.

Korver has been held at around 17 minutes per game, playing a key role off the Bucks’ bench. Though he hasn’t been as good as usual, he’s certainly provided his useful shooting ability in his possible swan song season. Depending on how Korver plays if the NBA returns, we could see him come back, but it’s likely that he could possibly retire. It’s more of a 50/50 chance at this point, so it’s hard to judge whether Korver could come back next season.

But even if he doesn’t come back and decides to retire, his final NBA game was a hell of a ride, even though his team couldn’t get a win. It would suck to see him retire since he can still provide some fantastic shooting when given the opportunity.
