15 players you forgot played for the Golden State Warriors
15. Kent Bazemore (2013-14)
To watch a Warriors game around 2013 wasn’t just to feast on the fresh and exciting shooting display of the Splash Brothers. Fans tuning in on television couldn’t help but feel their eyes drawn to Golden State’s bench after every play thanks in large part to Kent Bazemore.
An undrafted signee by Golden State, Bazemore’s rise to recognition came from his place atop the most energetic bench-warmers in the league.
Unable to get much playing time, he’d do what he could to inject the Dubs with some energetic taunting. He’d unapologetically flex his arms, holster his 3-point fingers and even mock the outside jumper of Blake Griffin.
The fame grew to heights that had the former Old Dominion product capture his antics via motion capture for NBA 2K14.
His contributions on the court, however, never matched the antics and good vibes he brought off it. Bazemore never averaged more than 6.1 minutes per game in roughly a year and a half with the Warriors before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in February of 2014.
Soon after, Bazemore became a valuable 3-and-D wing for the Atlanta Hawks, enough to earn a four-year, $70 million contract with Atlanta in the summer of 2016.
