7. Jamaal Wilkes (1974-77)
Jamaal Wilkes is considered a legend in the history of the Lakers franchise, a two-time All-Star who contributed to two championship runs in 1980 and 1982 off the bench alongside Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
But before the Hall of Famer could put in the work that led to his No. 52 hanging in the Staples Center rafters, he was a member of the Warriors as the 11th pick in the 1974 Draft.
Wilkes got off to a tremendous start to his NBA career, averaging 14.2 points and 8.2 rebounds during his first pro season, beating out the likes of No. 1 pick Bill Walton en route to the Rookie of the Year award.
Despite being just 21 years of age in his inaugural season, Wilkes proved crucial towards helping the Dubs win their first-ever championship in the Bay Area.
He was their second-leading scorer behind Finals MVP Rick Barry during a sweep of the Washington Bullets in the 1975 Finals, averaging 11.5 points along with 9.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in just 26.8 minutes per game.
He’d make his first All-Star Game the following season with averages of 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds a game for the defending champs. Following a third solid season in which he put up 17.7 points and 7.8 rebounds a night, Wilkes ended his time as a Warrior by signing with the purple and gold.
