3. Duncan Robinson, Dec. 10 vs. Atlanta Hawks

One of the biggest surprises of the season, Duncan Robinson’s transformation from an undrafted player on a two-way contract to becoming one of the elite snipers in the league has been stunning.

Seemingly breaking records every week, this game was no exception as Robinson equaled a Heat franchise high with 10 made 3-pointers in a nail-biting 135-121 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks.

As has been the case all season, Robinson jumped out the gates quickly, hitting four of his 10 triples in the opening quarter, with his ability to work off screens in a variety of ways simply flummoxing the Hawks defenders.

Despite pulling away comfortably in overtime, the Heat were in real trouble in the closing stages of regulation, trailing 117-111 with just 59 seconds remaining. But in stepped Robinson, with a crucial triple set-up by a drive-and-kick from Jimmy Butler. Then on the next ensuing possession, Butler hit a three of his own to tie the game and send it to overtime, whereby Robinson would hit a further two trays as the Heat dominated by outscoring the Hawks 18-4 in extra time.

After his stellar night, Robinson commented on equaling the Heat record — via FOX Sports Florida & Sun:

"“You know after getting nine (3-pointers earlier in the season), I definitely wanted that 10th, but you know I’m greedy like that, after I got the 10th I wanted the 11th. It was nice to get that 10th though, but more importantly I got it in the win.”"

Converting 10-of-14 overall from long distance, including an incredible 8-of-10 on catch-and-shoot opportunities, Robinson was certainly no longer a complete unknown, as verified by the above tweet from Zach Lowe of ESPN.

And while he has continued to go from strength to strength as the season has evolved, this was one of the prime early examples that Duncan Robinson has certainly arrived.
