1. Injuries

Quite simply the worst thing that has happened to this Raptors team all season long has been injuries. Only one player has played in every single game this season and that’s Raptors rookie Terence Davis. Marc Gasol has missed 28-games, Norman Powell has missed 20-games, Fred VanVleet has missed 16-games, Serge Ibaka has missed 14-games, the list goes on and on.

While no team is immune to the injury bug, the Raptors have no doubt had it bad this year. It’s tough for any team to build momentum or team chemistry with guys constantly in and out of the lineup. But somehow the Raptors have managed to do it.

Despite all the injuries, this Raptors team has managed to work themselves into a 46-18 record, good enough for 2nd place in the Eastern Conference and a clinched playoff spot. If the Raptors are able to come back from this hiatus at or close to full-strength, they would have a good chance of finding a rhythm as a team and making a run at back-to-back championships.

Let’s just hope the NBA resumes as soon as possible, the Raptors get healthy as soon as possible and we get ourselves an awesome 2020 NBA playoffs.
