The 2020 NBA Draft is filled with tons of superstar-quality point guards, a spot where the New York Knicks could use some improvement.

One year ago, most New York Knicks fans would have anticipated their team to have become a quality playoff team by now. Unfortunately, though draft lottery and free agency failures, the Knicks are back in square one.

There appears to be some sort of loop that the Knicks have found themselves in. Pick high in the draft, hope for free agency signings, fail at doing the previous one, tank, repeat.

Will they finally find their answer in the 2020 NBA Draft? Well, one thing is for sure. Even though talent-wise the 2020 draft class is substantially subordinate to the one we witnessed in 2019, it might still be tailor-made to suit New York’s needs.

The Knicks have been trying to find their franchise point guard for a long time now, a search that might come to an end in June, once they make their selection. Whether they wish to go with someone offensive-oriented, defensive-minded or playmaking specialist, the 2020 point guard class is there for you.

Apart from the glaring issue at the point guard spot, the Knicks are also looking for a wing player to pair up with RJ Barrett, who, up to now, looks very promising for the future. Kevin Knox just hasn’t impressed and his days in New York might be numbered.

Unfortunately, the NCAA recently canceled the March Madness tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless of that, the available prospects are still there for us to examine. As a result, let’s take a look at some of the potential prospects the New York Knicks should keep an eye on. Hopefully, this will be the last time we talk about that for a few years.
