4. Caris LeVert

One player that has gained the attention of both superstars is Caris LeVert. Drafted 20th overall by the Brooklyn Nets in 2016, they took a chance on a player coming off an injury-riddled senior year at Michigan. The Nets acquired the rights to draft the small forward when they traded veteran power forward Thaddeus Young to the Indiana Pacers.

The team has viewed him as a key piece of the puzzle in the organization’s rebuild. Entering his fourth season in the league LeVert is averaging a career-high in points 17.7 and shooting 38.1 percent from the 3-point line. These are encouraging signs for the team moving forward because he has finally gained the confidence to become the team’s late-game option during crunch time.

Referring back to the super-star duo of Durant and Irving one important factor in choosing the Nets this summer was their development of young players, specifically LeVert. Both see All-Star potential in the guard and could see him flourishing alongside them next season.

With that in mind, it seems like LeVert’s future with the organization is in good shape. He would become the third option and play the role of point guard with or without Irving on the floor.

Unlike Harris who is a free agent this summer, Dinwiddie who has one year left plus a player option on his contract, and LeVert who signed a three-year, $52 million extension this past summer. Unless there is a change of heart for the organization, it would be unlikely that the Brooklyn Nets move on from LeVert this summer.
