Toronto Raptors: 3 best things from 2019-20 season so far
It’s been a great year for the defending champion Toronto Raptors. Here are the three best things we’ve seen from the franchise in 2019-20 so far.
The Toronto Raptors are having an excellent season, a fact nobody can deny. It’s easy to harp on it, but the expectations were much lower for the franchise following the departure of Kawhi Leonard in free agency. Yet the team has a real opportunity to make a run at a second consecutive championship.
Following Thursday’s victory over Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, the Raptors are guaranteed a return trip to the playoffs this spring. They currently sit at 44-18 with 20 games left, good for first in the Atlantic Division and second in the Eastern Conference. At this pace, they’ll likely meet the Milwaukee Bucks as one of the final four teams left in the NBA postseason.
Of course, the ultimate goal is still on the table. The Raptors aren’t going to be satisfied with a divisional title or a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. They want to bring the trophy back home to Toronto for a second year and got an even bigger party started in the streets of the city.
For now, all we can do assess Toronto’s body of work three quarters of the way through the season. There have been amazing highlights, spectacular individual performances and moments that will be the pinnacle of recap videos and articles about the 2019-20 Toronto Raptors.
