The Portland Trail Blazers have had a season to forget. Here are the four worst things that have happened to them this season.

Many things have happened which have caused the Portland Trail Blazers to not reach the heights of last season. However, it is a surprise to all that they have not locked up a playoff seed by now and are in danger of missing out, sitting four and a half games from the eighth seed.

They are about to enter their most important stretch of the season and are starting to get their personnel back. They have suffered a horrendous run with injuries this season with key personnel going down at bad times.

Their injury woes started before last season’s playoffs when they lost Jusuf Nurkic to a horrific leg fracture. He has not suited up for a game all season and even managed to strain his calf while on the sidelines. This cost him another five or six weeks to rehab.

Unfortunately for the Blazers, they also had a roster turnover in the offseason which cost them some key pieces. Seth Curry took his talents to the Dallas Mavericks which left the playmaking duties to fall even more on the shoulders of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

They lost a lot of depth when they traded Maurice Harkless and Meyers Leonard in July. However, on a bright note, they did secure the services of Hassan Whiteside through this trade which appears to have been positive.

The Trail Blazers did they did try to upgrade their small forward position in the offseason by trading Evan Turner for Kent Bazemore. However, Bazemore did not perform as expected and has since been traded.
