8. Carlos Boozer (2002-04)

Carlos Boozer seems to be mostly forgotten by most of the NBA world today. However, there is no denying that this two-time All-Star was a premier talent in the league during his prime.

Selected with the No.35 pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, Boozer went on to have a magnificent rookie season and reach the All-Rookie team. The Cavaliers were ecstatic to find a potential franchise cornerstone and were eager to make Boozer a high usage player.

Then, the Cavaliers won the 2003 NBA Draft Lottery and the chance to select LeBron James. This immediately altered Boozer’s future with the team and probed him to tell reporters that the Cavaliers “already had better players at his position on the team.”

Of course, it didn’t take long for James to snatch the crown and become king in Cleveland. Though Boozer had an efficient sophomore season, averaging 15.5 points and 11.4 rebounds alongside James, he had decided to leave the franchise in free agency the following summer.

Joining the Utah Jazz, Boozer went on to have back-to-back All-Star caliber seasons and was selected to the 2008 All-NBA third team. He was one of the most consistent scorers in the league and spent years as a solid supporting member in multiple playoff runs for the Jazz and Chicago Bulls.
