1. Terrence Ross

Last, but certainly not least, is Terrence Ross. This man absolutely never gets talked about and is one of the best pure scorers in the NBA. Terrence Ross comes off the bench for this Orlando Magic team and provides a spark that every team looks for in their sixth man. I have never heard Ross’ name come up in Sixth Man of the Year discussions and to me, that is blatantly disrespectful. Not only should Ross be in the discussion for Sixth Man of the Year, I believe he should win it.

Ross is currently in his eighth NBA season and is averaging 19.3 points per 36 minutes while shooting 40.1 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from three and 84.0 percent from the free throw line. Not only are these incredible numbers but Ross is having a huge impact on his team. At this point, it seems as though people feel Dennis Schroder has already won the Sixth Man of the Year award but the way I see it, Ross’ impact on his team is much more significant.

Schroder, per 36 minutes, is averaging 22.0 points per game on similar shooting splits, however, his impact just doesn’t seem as useful. It seems as though Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari are the driving force for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

If you watch the Magic play, they just get such a spark when Ross checks into the game and it seems as though his impact is unquantifiable. Because their counting stats are so similar, for me I would give the 6th man of the year award to Terrence Ross, purely based on the eye test.
