Why the playoffs need the Trail Blazers

The playoffs need to have the Portland Trail Blazers involved. They are a team that no one would want to face in the first round. They have shown an ability to compete against and beat the top teams.

They also showed last season that you have to be in it to win it. Lillard was incredible in the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then where they played the second round against the Nuggets, CJ McCollum played a series for the ages.

If the Grizzlies make it, they will most likely not make a great deal of noise. There is a good chance that they will be happy to just make it. They have a solid young core who will gain valuable experience, maybe even take a game but that is about it.

The playoffs are cut-throat basketball, lose the series and your season is done. We love watching the underdog try to take on the higher seed who has homecourt advantage. We root for the underdog and love it when they win games or even the series against a higher seed.

Of the Western conference teams battling it out for the eighth seed, only the Blazers have the ability to add this level of excitement. The Blazers need to make the playoffs to add another twist to this incredible season.
