Los Angeles Lakers: 5 bold predictions after All-Star break
1. The Lakers win No. 17 for No. 24
The Los Angeles Lakers have started each of the two previous decades on the right foot by winning the championship. Champions in 2000, then again in 2010. Will history repeat itself in 2020?
This is a Lakers roster that is extremely motivated to win. You’ve got veterans like James, Rondo and Green that are not getting any younger and are in desperate pursuit of another ring, as Dwight Howard is still after his first. To top it off, Davis will be a free agent this summer, much of which is depended upon this year’s success.
If these reasons weren’t enough, the Lakers are now playing with a chip on their shoulders, a chip named Kobe Bryant.
Almost every active NBA player grew up watching the great Black Mamba grace the basketball court. Now we’re talking about the players that are representing the Lakers, who will forever be his team.
The road to the 2020 championship will most certainly be a tough one. The Los Angeles Lakers have to fight beasts in both the Western and the Eastern Conference if they were to be crowned champions when it’s all said and done.
The Los Angeles Lakers, currently sitting at 16 world championships, would tie their biggest rivals, the Boston Celtics, for the most championships in NBA history. Who knows, maybe they even meet each other in the NBA Finals, for a rematch of the 2008 and 2010 NBA Finals.
Do it for Gigi and Kobe.
