Tacko Mania

The Boston Celtics may have surprised a lot of people throughout the NBA world when they decided to take Tacko Fall as an undrafted rookie this season. Fall earned a two-way contract this summer and has been the hottest sensation throughout the NBA all season. At 7’5”, Fall is the tallest player in the NBA.

Fall hasn’t been featured in many games this season for the Celtics (6) and has averaged 3.2 points, and 1.8 rebounds per game. But his progression and production in the G-League has been very impressive. He is currently averaging a double-double of 12.8 points and 11.1 rebounds per game this season with the Maine Red Claws.

The UCF product has noticeably improved everything about his overall game. Fall is maneuvering around the court much more efficiently and knows where his spots are down in the post. He can obviously protect the rim, and as I mentioned in a previous article, “height is obviously something that can’t be taught, but skills can be coached.”

It’s a huge credit to the Maine Red Claws and their organization, but it’s a true credit to Fall and his drive to fulfill his dream of one day being center in the NBA. There is a strong chance that if Fall continues on this path, he could prove to be worthy of earning a full-time roster spot next season.
