Last week: Lost at Lakers 114-112, won at Portland 118-106, won at Utah 114-103, lost to Houston 111-110 (OT)

This week: Tuesday vs. Brooklyn, Wednesday at Cleveland, Friday vs. Utah

The Boston Celtics were a couple of more bounces away from a 4-0 week and a stretch of 13 wins in 14 games. Instead, the Celtics had to settle for 2-2 last week and an 11-3 mark since Jan. 28. The Celtics lost at Los Angeles to the Lakers last Sunday and then couldn’t get past the visiting Rockets in overtime on Saturday night.

But Jayson Tatum completed a breakout month of February with four consecutive 30-point games, a career-long streak. Prior to last month, Tatum had never put 30-point games together. He’s now done it twice — Feb. 5 and 7 and his active four-game run that began with Sunday’s tussle with the Lakers.

For the week, he averaged 35.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 blocks in 38.5 minutes a game, shooting 53.9 percent overall and knocking down a white-hot 52.8 percent on 9.0 triple tries per night. His 41 points in the loss in Los Angeles matched a career-high and in 12 games in February, Tatum scored 30.7 points per game.

Last week: Beat Boston 114-112, beat New Orleans 118-109, won at Golden State 116-86, los at Memphis 105-88

This week: Sunday at New Orleans, Tuesday vs. Philadelphia. Friday vs. Milwaukee

The Los Angeles Lakers watched their seven-game winning streak come to a screeching halt on Saturday night as they were thumped at Memphis in a game that got away from them early. The Lakers never led by more than two points and trailed the final 36:38 of the game after Tyus Jones put the Grizzlies up with a 3-pointer late in the first quarter.

So instead, it became a rest day save for LeBron James, who logged 34 minutes in his return from sitting out Thursday’s blowout at Golden State with a groin injury. No other Laker topped the 30-minute mark and coach Frank Vogel cleared the bench late.

Anthony Davis hit a cold stretch, even though he had 32 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in last Sunday’s win over the Celtics. For the week, he averaged 22.8 points, 10.5 boards, 3.0 blocks and 2.8 assists in 31.3 minutes a game, but shot only 40.8 percent overall and was 5-for-14 from 3-point range.
