3. Star potential

Brandon Ingram has been showcasing his star potential for quite some time, it’s just nobody noticed.

LeBron James‘ decision to join the Los Angeles Lakers brought an immense amount of opportunity but an even more amount of pressure for Ingram. The third-year player had no more time to develop and was thrust into the fire, expected to help compete for a championship immediately.

The criticism of Ingram was heavy. He began the season slowly but heated up towards the end, averaging 23.3 points on 55.1 percent shooting across his final 13 games. Once an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season, Ingram was packaged in a deal to acquire Anthony Davis.

Luckily, Ingram has picked up right where he left off. Now in New Orleans, Ingram is averaging a career-best 24.7 points and earned a selection to his first All-Star Game. At such a young age, the sky is the limit for Ingram.

His offensive skillset and efficiency are things to be excited about. He is poised with the ball in his hands and can seemingly score from anywhere on the court. Ingram shoots above 40 percent from the 3-point line and converts on 68.7 percent of his attempts in the paint.

Ingram is already an elite scorer and will only get better with time. At the very least, Ingram is on track to be a multiple-time All-Star.
