Montrezl Harrell still atop NBA Sixth Man of the Year Ladder
By Phil Watson
A strained left hamstring limited George Hill to just two appearances over the last four weeks and the Milwaukee Bucks veteran continued to slip down the ladder as a result.
While the Bucks were 7-2 over that span, Hill was hurt in a win over the Wizards on Jan. 28 and was out through the All-Star break before returning in Thursday’s 20-point win at Detroit.
In the two games he played, Hill logged 41 minutes and scored six points on 1-of-5 shooting, missing all three of his 3-point attempts and posting six assists and three steals.
He’s missed 10 games this season, appearing in 45, and is averaging 9.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 21.1 minutes a game, shooting 54.0 percent overall and an NBA-leading 51.1 percent on 2.9 deep tries per night.
The 3-point effort is far-and-away a career-best for Hill, who shot 41.5 percent on 3.1 attempts per game with the Kings and Cavaliers in 2017-18.
With only two games to choose from over the last four weeks, Hill’s return at Detroit was decent, scoring four points with three assists and three steals in 20 minutes, hitting 1-of-2 from the floor.
