12. Carlos Boozer (2014-15)

Despite being a standout player for college basketball’s most popular and polarizing program, Carlos Boozer came into the NBA facing relatively low expectations as a second-round draft pick.

Boozer showed promise with the Cleveland Cavaliers, then turned himself into a two-time All-Star with the Jazz. Boozer and Deron Williams led Utah to the Western Conference Finals in 2007, and Boozer was named All-NBA in 2008.

The Los Angeles Lakers signed Boozer in 2014, coming off his somewhat disappointing run with the Chicago Bulls where he never quite lived up to his $80 million contract. At 32 years old, however, Boozer still appeared to have some gas left in the tank.

Boozer played one season for the Lakers, which turned out to be his last NBA season.

He averaged 11.8 points per game, the lowest since his rookie year, and 6.8 rebounds, a career-low. Boozer mostly came off the bench in a disaster of a Lakers season in which Kobe was limited to 35 games by injuries, 14 different players were in the starting lineup at one point or another, and the team finished 21-61.
