The Orlando Magic are in need of some offensive punch for their postseason push, but would they go as far outside the box as these three free agents?

The Orlando Magic are facing into the remainder of the regular season with a fight on their hands to remain in a playoff position. They should have enough to get over the line, but once they do they figure to have a pretty short stay in the playoffs, especially if they come face to face with the seemingly all-conquering Milwaukee Bucks in the East.

Offensively is where they are in dire need of a boost, with the key guys on their roster such as Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross regressing on stellar performances last season. Do you know what else they could do with having some more of around the team? Fun.

Head coach Steve Clifford is the serious type, and with good reason as well. His style of defensive-minded basketball with sound fundamentals is how he builds his teams, and it has worked well for the Orlando Magic for most of his time in charge. Recently with some slippage in that area however, the offense needs to be able to produce more.

As a result of being built around defending, and with the aforementioned offensive game being painful to watch on a lot of nights, the Magic have become quite, well, boring to watch in recent times. This was also true for periods of last season, but that playoff run after the All-Star break helped fans to forget about that.

It could well be that this is exactly what happens again. The remaining schedule that the organization has left to play is favorable, and by this time in April we may once again be taking to social media to proclaim Clifford as the most underrated head coach in the NBA. For now though, “fun” is not a word that would be used to describe this team.

You know what though? There are a number of players on the free agent market that would inject a lot of giddiness into the franchise. The kind of players that would make coach Clifford tear his hair out if he had any, and who would frustrate and delight fans in equal measure with their shot selection. Venture over to the dark side with us to see what is out there in the wilderness.
