The continuation of elite performances

Going into the break, the Denver Nuggets saw significant contributions from Torrey Craig, Jerami Grant, Monte Morris, and of course, Jokic. While Craig’s value comes primarily from his defense, his 8.1 points and 5.7 rebounds on 48.4 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from deep in the ten games prior to the break were certainly nothing to scoff at.

Grant was particularly excellent on both ends, posting 14.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks on .473/.467/.957 splits across his last ten. He shined in the Nuggets’ victory against Houston on Jan. 26 when he recorded a season-high 25 points on 8-of-12 from the field and 3-of-3 from range, and he followed it up with a 21 point performance against Memphis, albeit in a loss.

While Murray was out, Morris filled in admirably running the point. In the ten games prior to the break, he averaged 12.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists a night on 52.0 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three. Morris recorded a season-high 19 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists against the Pistons and was similarly excellent with a 15 point game in Utah and a 16 point outing against San Antonio.

Jokic showed why he was named an All-Star for the second straight year over his last ten, as he averaged a near triple-double with 25.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 9.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks on a well above average 63.3 true shooting percentage. He’s recorded a triple-double in three of his last ten, and he narrowly missed out on two more by a single assist on two occasions during that stretch.

Big Honey dominated against Utah with a gaudy 30 point, 21 rebound, 10 assist night, notched a season high 13 assists against the Spurs, and showed no signs of slowing down with a 22 point, 11 rebound, six assist display in a close OT loss to the Lakers. Expect the Joker to keep the ball rolling, especially with this extra motivation following the All-Star game:
