Oklahoma City Thunder: Ranking playoff matchups in terms of favorability
By Nolan Jensen
#4) Los Angeles Clippers
Though the Clippers have relatively underwhelmed—given the gravity of their offseason— this is still a menacing squad hellbent on hoisting a Larry O’Brien trophy in the immediate future.
Led by reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard and former MVP finalist Paul George (which people seemingly forget about), the Clippers represent no easy task in a seven games series. Compounded by their two franchise cornerstones is arguably the best bench duo in the league with Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell; oh, and they still complementary talent across the depth chart.
They’ve felt the effects of the injury bug which has hindered cohesion, but there is good reason why they’re amongst the league favorites to host a parade this summer.
If the playoffs were to start today, this is who our friends from Chesapeake would match up against in the first round. They’ve played two competitive games this season with split decisions, but don’t mistake regular season play for the real thing.
The Thunder wouldn’t roll over and let former-friend Paul George and company move on without a fight, but in terms of favorability, this isn’t exactly the most ideal first-round opponent.
