Milwaukee Bucks: A pursuit of 70 wins

The Milwaukee Bucks don’t just have the league’s best record at 46-8. After winning a league-best 60 games a year ago, this team has come back even more dominant to the point where history is realistically in sight.

Golden State’s 73-9 record might be a bit out of reach for a team already with eight losses, but only one other team in NBA history has crossed the 70-win threshold, the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

With the NBA’s best defense and a top-3 offense, the Bucks would have to finish off their remaining games 24-4, a .857 winning percentage only slightly above their current .852.

Rest shouldn’t be an issue for a team led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, but Milwaukee’s remaining opponents might be, comprising a schedule ranked fifth in difficulty to close out the season. That being said, the Bucks are no slouches either, with a historic net rating of 11.5 and the second-highest margin of victory of all-time.

This is not the type of history the Bucks are focused on, but it’s hard to envision the prospect of joining such an elite group not weighing on them with each passing win.

No one on the team will acknowledge the accomplishment until its done, but with an engine like Giannis powering this historically dominant team, Milwaukee could very well leave its mark before the playoffs even begin.
