3 Reasons LaMelo Ball can save the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in desperate need of a franchise hero and LaMelo Ball could end up being the one who saves the day.
Nearly two full seasons of rebuilding and the Cleveland Cavaliers have yet to find reliable shoulders to carry the franchise through the decade. LaMelo Ball can potentially be the prospect to change the tides in Cleveland.
Right now, Collin Sexton is perhaps the best player on the team at 21 years of age but has plenty of factors holding him back. The Young Bull is leading the Cavaliers in scoring with 19.8 points per game but is a detriment on the defensive end.

Although Sexton has shown improvements in the decision-making department, he still has one of the worst assist-turnover ratios in the league and has been blocked more times than any other player this season.
As for the rest of the young core, Darius Garland and Kevin Porter Jr. have had promising rookie campaigns. Garland has looked better as the season goes on while Porter is making the most of his limited role.
Nonetheless, the Cavaliers are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 14-40 record. Their head coach has walked away from the job and newly acquired Andre Drummond has already expressed his dismay with the franchise.
Cleveland tied for the best odds to win the 2020 NBA Draft Lottery and will be looking to finally add a significant building block to their future.
A number of different prospects could find themselves in Cleveland. Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman seem to be two of the favorites to be selected at the top of the draft order but it is LaMelo Ball who should be most intriguing to the Cavaliers.
Ball burst onto the scene as a high school phenomenon when he scored 92 points with Chino Hills. Since then, he has taken a drastically different approach from his older brothers, skipping college to play for the NBL and earning enough respect from scouts to be a projected top-three pick in the draft.
Not many people have been keeping up with LaMelo since his decision to play overseas. Today, we are going to break down three reasons why he is capable of being the face of the Cavaliers franchise.
