Make a decision on John Wall

The idea that John Wall could make a return from his Achilles’ surgery this season hasn’t been shot down, or promoted for that matter, in any surefire fashion just yet.

Similar to the Brooklyn Nets’ treatment of Kevin Durant, it truly seems up in the air whether Wall will see the floor before the end of this year. It’s been 12 months now since he suffered a tear in his Achilles after rupturing it in October of last season.

With the severity of his injury, holding him out certainly makes a ton of sense. But the front office has to be prepared for the side effects that come with that.

So a decision on his status for this season should be the number one priority for the Wizards front office once they know this team isn’t headed for the postseason.

Because in part, that’s likely why a decision hasn’t been made yet. You don’t want to bring your franchise point guard back after missing over a year of basketball to a high-pressure scenario.

But regardless of what does end up happening, the fact of the matter is this: the Washington Wizards can’t truly move on with the rest of the 2019-2020 campaign without deciding what the official timetable looks like for John Wall.
