Now that trade season has past all that is left is to finish out the last 25 games. Winning is unlikely, so what do the Detroit Pistons have in store?

The All-Star break is wrapping up and the dog days of the NBA season are here. There are only 25 games remaining in the season for the Detroit Pistons. According to Tankathon, the Detroit Pistons have the second-toughest remaining schedule. Given that the Pistons have dealt with devastating injury luck and there are multiple meetings with teams like the Bucks down the stretch, this seems like an accurate representation of the current season.

It would be easy just to say the tank is on for the rest of the season. Lots of losses will be coming to the Motor City, but there is so much more to look forward to. The Thin Towers of Christian Wood and Thon Maker are a joy to watch. Derrick Rose has been a bright spot in an otherwise dreary season.  A certain sharpshooter, Luke Kennard, should be returning to gel with the young core before too long.

Whether it be the development of young players or the end of the final stages of the Stan Van Gundy era, this season still has a lot to offer. It is the end of an era for some of the more longstanding veterans.

It is the dawning of opportunity for some of the younger guys. And for one bright spot in particular, it is a chance to secure a life-changing contract.

Losses may be adding up and the dog days of the season are here. For the true fans, however, the fun is just beginning. Here are three key storylines to watch for over the last 25 games of the 2019-2020 Detroit Pistons season.
