MVP: Bradley Beal

It’s to the surprise of none that Bradley Beal is the Wizards mid-season MVP.

What he’s done this season is nearly unprecedented for a combo guard. He’s posting 29.1 points and 6.2 assists per game over his 46 games played.

Most fans doubted that Beal would be able to top what he accomplished last year once backcourt partner John Wall went down with an injury. But in his extended absence this season, Beal’s only become more rounded out as a superstar and enhanced his game even further.

Without Beal, it’s hard to predict just how many games this Wizards team could steal. Emphasis on the word steal. Because for this team, without their star shooting guard, to win many games would have to be a stars aligned type of scenario.

Beal has lived up to the expectation left by himself at the end of the last season. Exceeded it even.

And when Washington returns from the All-Star break, expect their (mid-season) MVP to continue leaving it all on the floor nightly, as the Wizards remain within earshot of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
