The Milwaukee Bucks have depth for days

Giannis isn’t the only thing that’s unfair about this team. Their depth is also a sight to behold. Antetokounmpo has missed six games this season and the Bucks are 5-1 in those games.

They haven’t just beaten teams, they’ve run them off the court when Giannis is out. All five of their wins have been by 12 points or more, and their one loss was a road game against the Indiana Pacers right before the All-Star break by just seven points.

When Antetokounmpo is on the floor, the Milwaukee Bucks oustcore their opponents by a staggering 14.6 points per 100. When he’s off, however, they’re beating teams by 7.5 points.

More from Hoops Habit

That rate would be the second-best net rating in the NBA, behind only themselves and ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers who are the actual second-best at +7.2.

The Bucks have one of the best secondary stars in the NBA in Khris Middleton, a player who finds himself in the exclusive 54/40/90 club with shooting splits of .501/.438/.902. Middleton is averaging a career-high 20.4 points per game and scored 51 points in a win over the Washington Wizards without Giannis Antetokounmpo’s services.

On other teams, Middleton would comfortably be the best player. On the Bucks, he’s the best accomplice for the best player in basketball.

Beyond Middleton, they’re getting great rim protection from Brook Lopez, incredible shooting from George Hill (he’s shooting 51.1 percent from 3-point range on 131 attempts!), solid supporting play from Eric Bledsoe and a host of players including Pat Connaughton, Donte DiVincenzo, Kyle Korver and Wesley Matthews.

The Milwaukee Bucks have the game’s ultimate battering ram who will grind you to a pulp, but with head coach Mike Budenholzer and this arrayed supporting cast, their ceiling may be higher than ever.

Stop thinking about 2021. Think about May and June with this team.

The Bucks benefit from being an overlooked superteam. dark. Next
